In May 2018, Lev Buchko was selected as one of ten delegates from the Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for a US–Russia Symposium in conjunction with the Russian Society for Soil Mechanics, Foundations, and Geotechnical Engineering (RSSMGFE). The focus of the event was on the best practices in geotechnical engineering guidance documents, codes, and standards, from both the U.S. and Russia.
Lev Buchko made a presentation on "Laboratory Testing of Soils in the U.S. per ASTM and AASHTO Standards" in Russian and English languages.
